To all who come to this happy place, Welcome!

Thank you for choosing to include Fishermen’s Bend Gymnastic club as a key part in your child’s development.  Gymnastic clubs can be very hectic places and with so many exciting things happening at once it is easy to feel lost or unsure of what to do and how to behave so we have put together some special tips to help our new members feel at home.

What happens for my first session?

Step 1: Ensure that you dress appropriately to participate in gymnastics.  Clothes should be form fitting with no zips, buckles or domes. Gymnasts should remove watches and jewellery (small earrings are acceptable) and hair longer than shoulder length must be neatly tied back.

Step 2: Arrive at the gym 5 minutes before the start of your class and report to reception.

Step 3: Gymnastics is a barefoot sport, shoes and socks must be removed prior to participation.

Step 4: Ensure that you make use of our provided lockers for belongings, bring your drink bottle to class.

Step 5: Find a seat to wait until it is time for your class to start.  Gymnasts and siblings must not be on the equipment except for when they are participating in their enrolled class.  This is for your safety.

Step 6: When it is time for your class to start, one of our staff members will take you into the gym area.

Step 7: Invite your parents and siblings to watch from our viewing area.

Car Parking

We think safety is important at Fishermen’s Bend and this includes how we manage our car park and entry. We ask that members please park their car on the street and walk into the gym. Two hour parking is available on Salmon street. Please do not drive into the site as it poses a safety risk.

On drop off we ask that you accompany your child into the gym and on collection please ensure you park your vehicle on the street and come inside the gym. Please do not ask your child to wait on the kerb, we cannot provide supervision for children once they have left the building.

How do I pay?

Once you have completed your enrolment details on the Parent Portal you can pay directly through the portal or we will send an invoice for the Term fees to the email address you provided.  If you are starting partway through a term we will pro-rata your fees to ensure you only pay for the sessions remaining.  Our club has EFTPOS facilities and our preference for fee payments is via direct debit (details on your invoice).

What happens if I miss a class?

Because our classes are so popular and many are fully subscribed, in order to maintain the quality of our program and your child’s experience at Fishermen’s Bend Gymnastics we do not offer make up classes. (Note: during Covid we have adapted our make up policy to encourage sick participants to stay home this can be found on the club rules and policies page on our website).

Launchpad Spectacular

Every year at the end of Term 3 we hold a competition just for members of Fishermen’s Bend Gymnastics Club.  Everyone is invited to compete (excludes Kindergym) and we have a fabulously fun weekend celebrating our amazing gymnasts.  Keep an eye out for information on this event so that you can put it in your diary.

Gymnastics is a very popular activity for young people so at the start of each term we have new children wishing to join our club so places in our classes fill quickly.  Your enrolment follows through from term to term.  We ask that you notify us at the end of each term if you wish to discontinue gymnastics. This way any children on the wait list can be notified before the start of term.
